Take Her Away: Fefe Dobson

The road to fame is not an easy one in the United States. One singer who knows this well is Fefe Dobson. This young woman has poured her heart and soul into making it back in the music industry. She was first put in the mainstream at the young age of 17. Unfortunately the star was dropped before her second album was released, but she is back to prove herself with her new album JOY. Felicia Dobson (her given name) was born in 1985 and raised outside of Toronto, Canada. From an early age she exhibited an urge to sing and perform. She says, ”My mom discovered my talent.” So Fefe would perform at a community center and with practice she was able to develop her stage presence. By the time she was in high school her theatre teachers had also recognized her talent and pushed her to the stage. With her relaxed personality, this young starlet enhanced the smooth pace of the photo shoot. She asked, “Do you have any Janice” (Joplin of course) to rock out to on the set. This really got her riled up. As the music played, she let her spirit run free. Her personality and style definitely correlate with one another. Funky and smart, yet it’s just Fefe. In fact she mentioned that the best places to go to in Toronto are vintage shops. We love this influential young beau, because she encourages other young women, to “have fun being themselves.”
