Roots Run Deep: Getting to Know Melissa Carcache

We are all aware of the unyielding pressures to fit a certain mold in the entertainment business, but actress Melissa Carcache debunks these superficial myths and proves that rising above with confidence and self-acceptance is something to adhere to.

Carcache stepped into the limelight with her role in Nickelodeon’s, “Every Witch Way,” which is also when she became more aware of how issues surrounding body image affect women of all ages. By accepting her flaws, she proves that beauty from within shines through and she reassures it by affirming, “There are times when I feel insecure, but I have to remind myself that I’m proud of my body, it makes me who I am.”

As an older sister to two siblings, she recognizes her responsibility as a young role model, and assumes the older sister role with her fans. “I’m not perfect, I make mistakes, it’s okay. I just try to be myself,” she said.

The actress strives for longevity in the entertainment industry. She is deeply inspired by Betty White, which keeps her yearning for more growth as an actress. Her passion for writing is something she hopes to evolve as well, wanting to test her mettle behind the camera someday. A philanthropist at heart, Carcache firmly believes in giving back to her community. She has volunteered her time for the past three years with Radio Lollipop, an organization she is passionate about. The courage and commitment of the patients, nurses and volunteers inspire and humble her. “There is so much joy in giving time and witnessing the power of music and play,” Carcache said.

With her growing success, Carcache makes sure to remain focused on what truly matters. She hails from a large Cuban family and credits them for keeping her grounded and supporting her through her journey as an actress. She recognizes and appreciates her roots and said family will always be the most important people in her life.
