Tell us about your personal style.
My personal style is very eclectic and experimental, I’m always playing around with new color combinations, texture mixing, and trying out different styles!
Where do you get inspiration?
Music that creates a mood, foreign editorials and publications, films from past decades such as La Piscine and Two for the Road, my friends, well-dressed strangers, everywhere.
What inspired you to start a fashion blog, and what’s the story behind your blog name?
At first, I just wanted a dumping ground for my thoughts and a creative outlet to store everything that inspired me in hopes of also inspiring others. I never intended on creating a fashion blog, but I guess many of my posts just naturally headed towards that direction because of how passionate I am about it. I actually didn’t really get into “fashion blogging” seriously until last year! On my blog name, red is my favorite color–I love a pop of red in any outfit, be it on my lips, nails, a belt, or pair of shoes… I’m a total Francophile too, so “rouge” just seemed so fitting! And foxes are my favorite animal
What else do you do in the fashion industry aside from blogging?
For now, nothing! I’m happy with just being a bloggerina.
Who are your fashion icons?
“It” girls from the 1960s.
What is your favorite item of clothing?
Sweaters, my closet is practically in the likes of Bill Crosby!
What do you think every girl should have in their closet?
A pair of black high waisted jeans. It’s the perfect throw-on-and-go piece that goes with everything.
If there’s one piece of advice you can give to people about fashion, what would it be?
Don’t cut your threads to this season’s fashion.
What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I can play the guitar! That’s what happens when you have a dad with a guitar collection.
If you could trade closets with anyone, who would it be and why?
Olivia Palermo, she has an uptown chic meets downtown sleek style that’s just so perfectly polished.
What do you spend the most on?
It varies all the time. I constantly go through phrases where I’m obsessed with a certain thing, and I have a horrible habit of spending all my money on it at once. Right now, it’s hats and head pieces.
Tell us about where you live, and how would you describe the fashion?
I live in Orange County, just a less than half-hour drive away from the beach where everyone’s style is laid-back and casual. Specifically, I live in a small town right next to Disneyland. And let me tell you, what people wear to the theme park doesn’t stay in the theme park.
Dream places to go to?
So many! Anywhere in Europe, from Montenegro and Krakow to the obvious like Barcelona and Munich. I’d love to be able to go on a Euro-trip one day!
What do you think separates you from other fashion bloggers?
I don’t really hop onto trend bandwagons and cave into clothing crazes like most bloggers do… Okay, fine. Not at the same time everyone does, anyway. I like to revive things when it isn’t as hyped up anymore and make it into my own!
If you were to get stuck in an island, what 3 items would you want to bring with you?
My iPhone, chapstick, and Yuri Pleskun.
What keeps you motivated to keep blogging?
Just the thought of knowing that I inspire people is motivation enough That, and passion. I don’t do it for fame or self-promotion. I blog because I love it!
Quick, what was the last piece of clothing (or accessory) you bought and where did you buy it?
Lace-up booties from a thrift shop in Los Feliz.
What are your plans or goals for the next 5 years? (In a nutshell)
Get a Bachelors degree in Fashion Merchandising and hopefully become a buyer for a major department store as well as a wardrobe stylist!
