At the age of 17, Laura Marano has taken young Hollywood by storm. She’s appeared in numerous television shows and movies, but you can currently watch her play the role of Ally in Austin & Ally every Sunday on the Disney Channel.

Performing is in Marano’s blood. She has acted professionally since age five, but wrote and sang songs for family and friends long before that. Her journey to Hollywood began in 2003 as Kate Malone in Without a Trace. Fast-forward a decade later and you’ll find roles from The Sarah Silverman Program to Dexter to Finding Nemo to Superbad in her resume.

Despite the breadth of her acting career, she still feels closest to the role of Ally. With such a connection to her Austin & Ally character, it’s no wonder that her fans see her as an inspirational leader and role model. But for Marano, it’s her fans who give her the strength to be a positive force. ”I’m just reciprocating their awesomeness,” Marano said.

One of the ways she gives back is through the Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF campaign. The campaign provides clean water and food for children in impoverished nations. If UNICEF shows up on your doorstep during Halloween, be sure to donate to a great cause. In addition to being a successful actress, Marano is also a flawless songbird. She uses her experiences, imagination, and love of storytelling to create the upbeat, relatable lyrics that her fans love.

As for the future, Marano looks forward to starting college, developing her music and acting career, and getting involved in more philanthropic work. “I’m also currently working on something super fun, but I can’t talk about it quite yet,” she said. “It involves another television show!”
