Kiss Me Through The Phone?

Kiss Me Through The Phone?

Miss your hubby? Don’t fret. Soulja Boy’s infamous Kiss Me Through The Phone song just might become a reality. A German design researcher, Fabian Hemmert, has developed “emotional phones” – prototypes that simulate human interactions, such as heavy breathing, hand-holding, and yes, even kissing.

One phone includes force sensors and a strap that goes around your hand that can give you a squeeze when the person on the other end of the line holds their own phone. Likewise, a second model displays a breathing prototype that picks up air movements on one phone and re-establishes that into a jet of air on the other end. The third and most disturbing and creepy prototype is the kissing simulator, which includes a moisture sensor for the kisser and a motorized “wet sponge pushing against a membrane” on the kissee’s phone, ranging from a quick peck to a full on French smooch session.

In a world so in tune and glued to an array of communicative “glowing screens,” many might argue that personal interaction has taken a fall.

And, while this is one way to make the future of intimacy revolve around technology, substituting a device for a real human interaction seems quite impossible. But you’ve got to admit, it sure does take PDA to a whole other level.
