Eat Healthy and Stay Satisfied [Seriously]!

Eat Healthy and Stay Satisfied [Seriously]!

So many of us make New Year’s resolutions to stick to a diet plan and loose those extra five pounds we have been putting off [from all those past New Year’s resolutions of course,] and it just seems like an endless, draining cycle of disappointment. Why is eating healthy so hard you ask? Why do we fall into food temptation more often than not? Maybe we have been looking at it all wrong; maybe food is not the enemy but the ally. It all depends on what you are putting on your plate!

First things first, always venture in the produce section of the grocery store for your snacks. You may not believe how delicious tangerines or fresh strawberries can be [or how satisfying!] Make friends with food you have never tried before, and don’t be afraid to experiment with foreign fruits and veggies. Coming from the angle of a very picky eater, I know trying new things may not be a breeze, but it’s important in order to expand your food groups and find new, exciting options to add to your diet!

Sugary drinks are a big diet downer, so make sure to buy plenty of cases of bottle water. Even adding flavor packets to the water keeps it healthier than soda and fruit juice, so don’t be afraid to add a little tang to your tasteless beverage. It isn’t bad to treat yourself to an iced coffee now and then [I am extremely guilty,] but think twice before piling on the sugar and the creamer. Try skim milk and splenda for a just as tasty option, minus the guilt. Most of the diets conscious out there don’t think about the fluids they are putting into their bodies, and this could be a wall holding them back from achieving true health and wellness.

Junk food shouldn’t be banned from any diet! Treating yourself in moderation can help you to feel accomplished as well as your taste buds. Refuse to become another yo-yo dieter; start a lifelong health plan not only for your weight but for your overall well-being. Eating healthier options can lead to more refreshed and energized you, and who’s complaining about that! If you feel rejuvenated from healthier food choices than you will feel better about yourself. Making critical, smart decisions about what food you eat will make you happier overall, and who doesn’t want to develop a more positive outlook on life? Forget diet depressing and try out food fantastic by making better choices everyday!
