Fall is here! Brisk autumn breezes whip through our hair, hints of glitter and promises of candy are in the air and crisp, dry leaves crinkle underfoot. Along with the aura of a new season, Fall also marks the premieres of many new and renewed seasons for TV shows. With access to , YouTube and other websites that stream free TV shows, or a regular TV, you may experience an overwhelming feeling in what show(s) to tune into. If you need a little hint of what to watch, start off with these three hits:
Modern Family, ABC
This show is back and better than ever. Follow three “new American” families in this hilarious “mockumentary” style show. Never fear that the humor will get less enchanting after two seasons, as the cast brings new topics to life, including partners Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) embarking on a juice fast and thoughts about adopting a second child, Jay’s (Ed O’Neill) and his much-younger Columbian wife, Gloria’s (Sofia Vergara), life with a new puppy, as well as the ever-amusing Dunphy children and their parents, Claire (Julie Bowen) and Phil (Ty Burrell). Expect lots of references to modern and pop culture, quick wit lines, and lots of laughs. In just one episode you can see why Modern Family has won five Emmy Awards and is still a hit on their third season.
Pan Am, ABC
Pan Am premiered to rave reviews and it’s quick to see why. A drama focusing on the iconic airline in the early 1960’s, Pan Am offers viewers a look into the past “luxury” style of flight, the high profile life of stewardesses (played by actresses Christina Ricci, Kelli Garner, Margot Robbie and Karine Vanasse), as well as the different cities and dramatics that evolve. Throw in a little history (think, Bay of Pigs), as well as American Intelligence systems, and a whole lot of romance, and Pan Am promises to be a hit.
Up All Night, NBC
Up All Night has everything going for it: an all-star cast (Christina Applegate, Maya Rudolph, Will Arnett) and a real-life inspired plot from the show’s creator’s life on SNL after motherhood. A high profile producer for an Oprah-esque television personality adjusts to her newfound life as a working mom while her former-lawyer husband now plays stay-at-home dad, while trying to rekindle both the romance and fun of life before baby.
